The club is a non-profit organization of volunteers dedicated to preserving and promoting our local natural heritage. We are appreciative of Lake Erie which provides our drinking water and allows many migrating species to pass through our area. Being situated in a Carolinian zone allows us to appreciate the many species of trees unique to this zone.
Our club was formed in September of 1950 and has a history of annual bird counts dating back before that time. Our members have participated in hawk viewing weekends at Hawk Cliff since 1975. Members have built and maintained Eastern Bluebird boxes since 1957 and were instrumental in the increase in their population in our county.
